This is the way things should be! My question about availability was swiftly and competently answered in an on-line chat, I was notified by email of shipping, checked the tracking information, and received the package just as promised.
I tried to order this from Amazon and received an email that they would let me know when they wold be able to ship it. Everything else in my order arrived, and still no word from Amazon. I remembered that I had always had good service from Mac Connection, so I went to the web site, found the same printer at a slightly higher price but no shipping costs [so came out less!]. It was listed as "Call for Availabiiity" and while I wondering what to do, up popped a Chat window, and a very helpful person named Liz D answered my question.

Printer arrived before it was expected and is performing as expected.

The item I ordered was on back order and I was not notified of the extent of the time frame. When I called I was told it was no available but expected in around the end of March (I ordered it in February)but the were not sure and they had sereval hundred on back order.
It was a quick, clean process. I appreciate that.
